Security Officer - Resilience Support Locations: Northwest & South Cumbria (Workington to Barrow-in-Furness) Job Overview We are looking for a professional, adaptable and customer-focused Security Officer to join our Resilience Team, supporting a portfolio of sites across Northwest and South Cumbria. In this role, you will protect our customer's people, property and assets by delivering high-quality security services in line with site Assignment Instructions (AI's), company policies and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, supporting operational resilience and contributing to the continued success and retention of the contract. You will receive comprehensive, site-specific training across multiple locations and, once assessed as a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP), you will become part of a flexible resilience team, providing operational support across all designated sites. This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as you may be deployed to any of our sites at short notice to support operational requirements. - Deliver professional security services in accordance with Assignment Instructions (AI's), company procedures and customer requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, UK legislation and industry regulations.
- Complete all site duties to a high standard, whilst always maintaining professionalism.
- Regularly review Assignment Instructions and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
- Maintain all required certifications, and competencies relevant to the role.
- Follow operational procedures accurately and work in a structured, methodical manner.
- Support contract performance by consistently delivering excellent customer service. Training & Development
- Successfully complete all mandatory and site-specific training programmes.
- Undertake additional training and development as directed by the Security Management Team.
- Use technology and internal systems effectively to support operational requirements.
- Maintain continuous professional development and ensure all licences are renewed in advance of expiry dates. Security & Health & Safety
- Remain vigilant to security threats, suspicious activity and changes within the working environment.
- Report all incidents, hazards and Health & Safety concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Respond professionally and calmly to incidents and challenging situations.
- Complete accurate incident reports and detailed notebook entries following any occurrence.
- Ensure all scheduled check calls are completed in line with Assignment Instructions.
- Use your own judgement to contact designated emergency contacts when required, ensuring appropriate escalation and timely communication in line with procedures.
- Demonstrate commitment, reliability and professionalism in support of both Mitie and the client. What We're Looking For Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to successfully obtain National Security Clearance
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexible and professional approach to working across multiple sites
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to incidents Desirable
- SIA License and/or CCTV Licence
