Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity in the Division of Clinical Medicine for someone with a passion for immunology looking to use their skills in in vivo modelling and microscopy to make an impact on translatable research. Many human diseases increase susceptibility to infection and have dysfunctional immune cells. You will join the Renshaw Lab in Firth Court to investigate specific genes involved in infection susceptibility as well as gut inflammation in a zebrafish model of cystic fibrosis. As this role requires detailed, high resolution imaging, it provides an excellent opportunity to develop your microscopy skills and image analysis at subcellular level. This role offers you the opportunity to multitask projects and contribute to the maintenance of the Renshaw Lab to promote productive and efficient high-quality research. Educated to Masters level, you will have the commitment and drive to ask hypothesis-driven questions to understand the role of immune cells in infection and CF. There
will be the potential to publish in journals and present your data at internal research events. In vivo modelling and microscopy experience is essential, with a genetics and immunology background desirable.
