An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Arun Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (Bognor site), we are seeking to recruit a Registered Nursing Associate to join our team to support our Clozapine and Depot Clinic's as well as offering physical health checks to patients with a Serious Mental Illness for a 12 month fixed term contract. We ensure every patient has an individual care plan, receives regular support including medical reviews and physical health monitoring. You will have an opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and work closely with our Nurses, Psychiatrists, Community Pharmacist Community. We need someone who can work independently with appropriate supervision and is interested in working in a community setting with patients with complex mental health needs. The ability to travel across sites and to undertake community visits will be essential to this role.

  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice
  • Desirable criteria
  • Care Certificate, Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting either paid or voluntary
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the nursing associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Desirable criteria
  • Lived experience of mental health issues, Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers
  • Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
  • ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
  • intermediate IT skills including sound working knowledge of Microsoft word and outlook
  • The ability to use clinical systems
  • Ability to administer injections with good hand eye co-ordination.
  • Ability to travel across the designated area in response to service needs

  • Co-facilitating training/ group work to carers and service users
  • Using resources within budget/ keeping within our means, Successful candidates are normally appointed to the bottom of the pay scale unless previous NHS experience in a similar role can be evidenced., You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
