Full Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, professional, and organised Receptionist to join our care home team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As the first point of contact for residents, relatives, visitors, contractors, and colleagues, you will play a key role in creating a warm and welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception and administrative functions within the home. This is an onsite role, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a busy, people-focused role and thrives in a professional front-of-house environment.,
- Provide a professional and welcoming front-of-house service for all visitors, residents, families, colleagues, and contractors
- Answer telephone enquiries in a courteous, helpful, and timely manner
- Support the administration team with a range of clerical and office tasks
- Maintain accurate records, databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems
- Assist with scanning, photocopying, document management, notice boards, and general office administration
- Support practical arrangements for residents, including booking appointments, arranging transport, and coordinating taxis
- Liaise with external suppliers and service providers where required
- Help support office systems, stationery ordering, ID badges, maintenance logging, and meeting arrangements
- Maintain visitor records and support site security processes, including reception-based monitoring systems
- Ensure confidentiality and accurate handling of information in line with organisational procedures
Friendly, approachable, and professional with excellent customer service skills - Highly organised with strong administrative skills and attention to detail
- Confident using IT systems including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a busy environment
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and following policies and procedures
- Positive, proactive, and willing to support the wider team, GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience working in a busy and demanding environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good IT skills and administrative capability
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing tasks
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and supporting a resident-focused environment Desirable
- Previous reception or administrative experience
- Experience working in a people-focused environment
- Customer service qualification
