Full Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated Receptionist / Administrator to join our friendly team at our newly refurbished GP practice, serving over 11,500 patients. As a member of our Reception and Administration Team, you will be one of the first points of contact for patients and visitors, providing a professional, welcoming and efficient service. The role includes managing patient enquiries, booking appointments, undertaking administrative tasks and supporting the wider practice team to deliver high-quality patient care. A minimum of 25.75 hours per week is required. The successful candidate must be able to cover the following core shifts:
- Monday: 07:45 13:30
- Tuesday: 13:30 18:30
- Wednesday: 13:30 18:30
- Thursday: 13:30 18:30
- Friday: 13:30 18:30 These core hours are essential and must be covered. Additional hours may be available, up to a maximum of 37.5 hours per week, for the right candidate. Applications for either the minimum hours, full-time hours or a job share arrangement will be considered., The successful candidate will provide a professional and efficient reception and administrative service, acting as a first point of contact for patients, visitors and healthcare professionals. Duties will include answering telephone calls, greeting patients, booking and managing appointments, processing patient registrations, handling enquiries, scanning and filing documents, and supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the practice. The role requires excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the practice to support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and ensure a positive experience for patients at all times.
