Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Neonatal Nurse to join our Directorate as aQuality & Safety Matron. This is a pivotal leadership role supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care across our Neonatal services at St. Mary's Hospital and Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital. Working closely with the Directorate leadership team, you will lead and coordinate the governance and patient safety agenda, driving continuous improvement and ensuring robust systems of assurance across all sites. This role is ideally suited to a nurse with a passion for quality improvement, patient safety, and service development, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is confident influencing practice at both operational and strategic level.,

  • Coordinates and supports the directorate risk agenda, ensuringappropriate action is taken in relation to the risks identified, which areallocated to the correct person and implemented.
  • Coordinates and supports the directorate incident agenda, ensuringappropriate actions are agreed and are allocated to the correct personand implemented.
  • Coordinates and supports the directorate audit agenda, ensuringappropriate actions are agreed and are allocated to the correct personand implemented.
  • Coordinates and supports the directorate complaints process, ensuring appropriate actions are agreed and are allocated to the correct person and implemented.
  • Ensures incidents are reported onto the incident reporting system andinvestigated as per Trust policy.
  • Ensures the duty of candour process is effectively completed, within set timescales and assists clinicians to effectively complete this process.
  • Undertakes investigations, under the supervision of the Lead Nurse.
