Full Job Description
The Centre for Climate Repair (CCR) is a multi-disciplinary centre hosted in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) and is focused on supporting research in three main areas: emissions reduction, greenhouse gas removal and refreezing the arctic.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to provide administrative support and project coordination to the Centre. Working closely with the Programme Manager and other key members of staff, the Programme Administrator will ensure that CCR's projects run smoothly. This will involve general administrative support, event coordination, project coordination and project financial administration. CCR is located within the Department of Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) on Wilberforce Road. Some travel to the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Street will be required
The successful candidate will be pivotal in helping assist with overseeing the administration of projects run by CCR and ensuring the smooth running of research activities and stakeholder engagement.
The Programme Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of projects, preparing project outlines and plans, supporting project-related activities and events (conferences, workshops, training events), carrying out financial administration, providing administrative support to the Directors and maintaining appropriate communication channels with colleagues, representatives and stakeholders within and outside the University., This is a full-time role working 36.5 hours per week. We are looking for a skilled and experienced administrator with knowledge of project coordination. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
You will be experienced at building positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external colleagues. You will be well organised, and have a flexible approach to work, with an ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities along with excellent computer skills are also essential. You will have some experience in supporting event coordination.
A scientific background is not required for this role, but an interest in supporting research in this area would be beneficial.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
