Porter / Handyman

Job Overview

• To perform the role of Porter & Handyman
• The role will be split between portering duties and assisting with general handyman tasks
Main Duties
• In your new role as a Porter/Handyman, you will assist with the delivery and physical set-up/ taking down of all furniture and equipment for all events and office moves as well as assisting with general site maintenance duties.
• You will assist in keeping the site clean and tidy. You will assist with the collection and delivery of waste, goods and items from offices and the post room.
• You must be willing to do litter picking and road sweeping and assist with office cleaning
• You must be willing to assist the engineers in their duties where required.
• You will ensure all waste streams are segregated, handled, stored and disposed in line with the site and collection contractor requirements.
• You will assist in using various cleaning equipment to clean specialist buildings wearing full PPE including mask, cloves and coverall.
• You will observe local security measures in line with client policies, you will take a keen and active part in all training and staff development provided by company and/or client, you will attend team meetings and/or meetings as requested by others within the management team and/or the client, you will be flexible in approach to work patterns, systems and location to maintain the standards required by the Client and as a MITIE employee.
• You will adhere to any reasonable management requests from line manager or client contact.
What we are looking for
• You will have previous experience of working in a similar role or environment.
• You will be fit and healthy and be able to lift items up to 25kg.
• You must be able to work on a ladder up to 8ft.
• You must be willing to work overtime or weekend work on an ad-hoc basis.
• You will be experienced in lifting and handling furniture and equipment. You will be customer service orientated and be a team player.
• With an energized attitude you will be a strong communicator and always well groomed.
• You must be hands on and willing to learn new tasks
• You must be willing to go through the police clearance process.
