Full Job Description
Personal Assistant required for a happy and lively 7-year-old boy who lives in the Camelford area.
He is autistic and has some difficulty communicating. He would like someone who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some 1:1 support.
He would like someone to support him with his communication and social skills out in the community. He loves being outdoors, whatever the weather, enjoying nature. His interests are geckos/lizards, music and space, but nature is his number one interest!
A personal assistant will enable him to enjoy activities in his local community gaining independence away from his family.
Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
Good rate of pay at £12.60 per hour.
6 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible. These will mostly be required at weekends and during school holidays.
Car driver preferred with business class insurance.
