Full Job Description

Whether you are an experienced Healthcare Support Worker or just starting out in care, if you are caring, compassionate and looking for a new challenge, then we have a role for you to take the next steps in your healthcare career You will be recruited at Band 2 if you have not yet completed CUH HCSW induction which includes completion of the Care Certificate and Competencies. Once completed you will move up to Band 3. If you are currently working in a support worker role and have therefore completed these, you will be recruited as Band 3 Please note you will be required to undertake a Functional Skills Test as part of your interview assessment. You will need to pass this in order to proceed to a Conditional Offer. This is applicable if you are not currently working as a Support worker at CUH. Further development opportunities for you CUH is committed to education, training and development; joining as a Healthcare Support Worker will enable you to access the following:
- Completion of the National Care Certificate
- Skills development
- Access to Functional skills in English and maths training to enhance knowledge and confidence in literacy and numeracy and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
- All new staff will receive further details about development routes on their induction programme, As a Healthcare Support Worker you will assist the Registered Nurses in the delivery of care to our patients , you will work as part of a team ensuring our patients are cared for in a Kind, Safe and Excellent way, ensuring they are treated with dignity at all times. About the Role: The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding. You will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of patients. Full time and part time posts will be considered, and shifts include long days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Our HCSW's will need the flexibility to cover varied shift patterns. As part of this role you will be required to:
- Support to serve meals to patients
- Provide personal care to patients
- Take observations such as blood pressure measurements, pulse, urinalysis and temperature.
- Support patients with moving in their clinical area
- All other clinical duties as required
