Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced manager, to lead our Pathology Stores and Logistics service based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The post holder will manage a team of 25 staff and be responsible for the Pathology receipts and distribution centre. Ensuring pathology consumables are available and delivered to all customers across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Ideally applicants would have previous stock management, logistics or NHS experience., · Accountable for managing all aspects of the Pathology Stores facilities, including Leicestershire Pathology Transport services and postal systems.
· Managing the electronic inventory system to ensure that stock levels are always maintained.
· Managing a fleet of vehicles and leasing contract, including accident investigations and insurance issues.
· Ensuring both drivers and vehicles are available to enable patient samples to be collected, analysed, and reported.

· Responsible for all pathology requisitions, orders and GRN's ensuring they are dealt with promptly in accordance with the Trust's standing finance instructions.
· To liaise with NHS supplies, Procurement team and General Managers to ensure the most effective, efficient, and economic orders are placed.
· To manage stock, ensuring appropriate levels are maintained to feed the laboratories and hold in a secure environment.
· Responsible for the departmental budget.
· To be responsible for managing the GP transport service on a day-to-day basis, ensuring GPs throughout Leicestershire receive a daily collection of patient's samples, delivery of patient's reports and receive sufficient consumable supplies.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.
The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
COVID 19 Risk Assessment
