Full Job Description

We currently have opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assessment Officer to join our East Kent Short Term Pathway team. The role will support the Occupational Therapy led enablement service at Westview Integrated Care Centre in Tenterden. We offer an excellent induction and ongoing training package, to facilitate you to develop and find creative solutions to enhance independence utilising an enablement approach, equipment, adaptations, and techniques with a focus on enablement planning and goal setting with people in a short stay services, thus ensuring that the people we support receive high quality, personalised interventions that genuinely improve lives. The role will involve working in partnership with a variety of agencies including Health to ensure that people are supported in the most effective way to meet their needs and to improve their lives. You will receive regular supervision from a registered Occupational Therapist and a tailored personal development plan to enable you to develop your career pathway within Kent and be the best that you can be. Kent County Council has excellent opportunities for training and development; you will receive a comprehensive induction and the support and training you need to feel confident and effective in your role. A flexible working approach is required to support the Short-Term Pathway Team. Provision of technology and equipment to work from all locations will be provided. Occasionally you will be expected to work outside normal office hours to optimise outcomes for service users and provide a responsive, seamless, multi-disciplinary approach. The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
