Full Job Description

The role is to be part of the antenatal and new born screening team in all aspects of the screening programmes. The focus will be on ensuring the oversight and monitoring of the NIPE screening programme. Supporting staff training, KPI monitoring and adherence to the national NIPE screening programme. Main duties of the job

  • To co-ordinate the local delivery of the NIPE screening programme in line with the standards set by the UK National Screening CommitteeNewborn screening programme (Newborn Physical Examinations & Newborn Hearing)
  • Act as the link coordinator to help support the ANNB screening team in delivering the national ANNB screening service outlined.

  • Registered midwife with a current NMC registration
  • Significant post registration experience as a band 6 midwife
  • MWDM3372 Newborn and Infant Physical Examination or equivalent qualification Broad post qualification experience as a midwife
  • Desirable
  • Understanding of quality improvement tools and data analysis tools

  • Experience in all midwifery settings
  • Experience & Knowledge Essential
  • Broad understanding of the National Screening Committee Newborn Screening programmes.
