Materials Controller

The purpose of recruiting for this role is to purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. To manage and maintain inventory levels across sites in a timely and efficient manner.,

• Issue supplier forecasts and manage demand accordingly, reducing and identifying exposure to material obsolescence.
• Investigate and participate in business improvement - rationalisation and cost reduction strategies.
• Expedite materials where required and offer support to wider team.
• Lead supply issues as and when they arise finding out root cause and using appropriate methods to rectify.
• Source materials for new requirements, in particular NPD for new product innovation obtaining suitable, commercially viable materials following guidance central procurement (no commercial should be agreed without prior approval from the central procurement team).
• Place PO's against the company Materials Requirements System (MRP) using the company operating system maintaining targeted inventory levels
• Expedite outstanding deliveries highlighting problems and escalating where appropriate
• Monitor and maintain the MRP system marking off goods received as required
• Organise supplier returns for non-conforming goods using the company operating system
• Resolve invoicing queries in a timely manner
• Carry out ad-hoc admin tasks; such as new SKU code loading, packaging databases stock reconciliation with external cold stores
• To attend periodic production and procurement meetings as required
  
  Ability to demonstrate proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Problem solver with a can do attitude
• Organised and methodical in approach
• Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
