Manual Handling Service Lead UHL Trust | Leicester, UK
Are you ready to take the lead in shaping safe and effective manual handling practices across UHL? We're looking for a dynamic registered professional to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and champion best practices in patient and staff safety.

As a trusted specialist, you'll provide expert moving and handling advice, training, and support to teams across the Trust. Your leadership will directly influence the health, safety, and welfare of employees, patients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring manual handling operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

+ Bariatric Care Innovation: Continue developing a sustainable Bariatric Service that benefits both the Trust and the wider health community.
+ Operational Excellence: Collaborate with the UHL Bed and Equipment Management Team to optimise patient care and resource utilization.
+ Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse and interpret data to produce governance reports, ensuring compliance and informed strategic planning.
+ Training & Development: Design and deliver specialist training programs that empower staff and enhance patient outcomes.

Plan and evaluate Moving and Handling Training
Lead and support the bariatric workstream
Support, as required the UHL Bed and equipment contract
Write and present data and reports, as required, to summarise team performance against agreed KPI's
Have oversight of staff referrals all Musculoskeletal disorders
Manage datix incidences related to Musculoskeletal disorders / Moving and handling incidents
Oversee contract tenders for all identified moving and handling related equipment

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.
The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
COVID 19 Risk Assessment
Due to the current Covid pandemic we have introduced a staff risk assessment into our pre-employment process. This now forms part of the mandatory pre-employment checks that will be carried out if you receive a conditional offer.
The risk assessment is intended to ensure you are able to safely perform your duties in any of our work areas, and if you have been identified as being particularly vulnerable to coronavirus. Our main aim is to reduce risk and to ensure the safety of all new starters to the Trust as well as current staff, patients and visitors.
If it is identified that you are within a vulnerable category, we will endeavor to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate this through discussions with both Occupational Health and your recruiting manager.
