Full Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and ambitious Management Accountant to support our accounting operations, additionally, we are open to someone who is part-qualified and working towards their ACCA. This role would suit someone enthusiastic about technology and can adapt and work in a dynamic start-up environment.

By working closely with the QMT Executive team and line managers, your day-to-day role will encompass the following:

Accounting Responsibilities
1. Support all company accounting responsibilities (including payroll & month end management, bank payment authorisation & invoicing)
2. Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
3. Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
4. Document key accounting processes and policies to improve internal controls

Financial Reporting and Analysis
1. Drive monthly, quarterly and annual financial / management / KPI reporting to identify results, trends
2. Financial modelling (Excel etc)
3. Conduct cash flow management and reporting
4. Projects - Financial reporting and analysis

Systems Management
1. Own & control financial systems (e.g. Xero, ApprovalMax)

Budgeting and Forecasting
1. Support in delivering financial budgets and forecasts with discrepancy, variance analysis and commentary

Compliance and Reporting
1. Working closely with external partners in delivering financial and statutory filings
2. Provide annual R&D Tax Credit reporting and financial support in grant reporting etc

Strategic Support
1. Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information
2. Support in delivering the company's financial strategy & decision-making process
3. Assist the Executive team in presenting reports to stakeholders, and board members.

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
2. Professional Accountancy qualification or still studying
3. Proficiency in Xero, MS Office, particularly Excel financial modelling (essential)
4. A dedicated team ethos with a passion to deliver a first-class QM experience
5. Strong business acumen & analytical approach
6. Excel financial and business plan modelling skills
7. Proven planning, organisational and communication capabilities
8. A sense of urgency and commitment to deliver against deadlines and a desire to go the extra mile
9. Ability to forward plan, assess requirements and implement improvements
10. Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and change
11. A desire to learn, develop and grow within our business
12. Experience working in a start-up, ideally within a tech environment
13. Demonstrated experience working with a UK entity
