Full Job Description

  • Involves working across a variety of different areas within logistics and inventory management, to ensure a vital supply of materials and services are available to our customers/operational programmes
  • Develop knowledge of key principles around facilitating deliveries, manual handling, appropriate storage techniques, stock rotation, packaging methods and housekeeping cleanliness
  • Providing continuous support to the build line by ensuring the correct material is delivered at the right time to support submarine programme build
  • Receive specific logistical training in a live environment, such as operating forklift trucks, cranes and slinging
  • Applying safety practices and procedures in all aspects of your role., The Supply Chain Team: Our team is responsible for ensuring that our boat programmes and site projects are working at maximum capability. This is achieved by sourcing equipment, products and materials from a vast amount of local and national businesses, to enable our staff and facilities teams to complete their day-to-day roles in an effective and efficient manner.

    3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-3 / A - E which must include Maths & English

    Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
  • The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes. Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s.
