Full Job Description

To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and high-quality evidence-based Medical Oncology service, with continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.

Leadership, development, and organisation of the services in his/her charge in line with Trust / Divisional business plans. Full participation in the management of the Barts Cancer Centre (BCC). Liaison and communication with the Clinical Academic Group Director and General Manager and with the Deputy Director of Operations of BCC.

To lead outpatient clinics as specified in the job plan. The typical clinic template for a three hour clinic would be 1-2 new patients and 8 follow up patients.

To lead medical oncology ward rounds for urology inpatients. A typical ward round would consist of 5-10 patients.

AdvertWe are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our existing Breast Cancer team based at St Bartholomew's Hospital in the Barts Cancer Centre. The successful candidate will join a well-established medical oncology team and play a key role in developing cancer services across the Trust. The posts offer an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and welcoming consultant team, and to develop new models of care/services that support the people in north-east London and beyond. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver effective care. This post is advertised as a full time 10 PA position; an alternative timetable would need to be requested prior to appointment for consideration by the Clinical Director. You require full registration with the General Medical Council with the licence to practice.
