Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a full-time Locally Employed Doctor to join our Marlborough House CAMHS Inpatient Unit based in Swindon for a 12 month fixed-term contract. You'll have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the inpatients including contribution to the ward rounds, CETRs, CPA reviews, discharge planning meetings and Mental Health Act Tribunals. You'll be working under the clinical supervision of the dedicated inpatient consultant psychiatrist. This role involves working collaboratively with other teams to ensure co-ordinated clinical care of patients to manage smooth and timely transfer into and out of the unit. The teams you'll work with most will be the Community CAMHS teams, CAMHS Crisis team and Early Intervention Psychosis Team (EIS).,

  • Day-to-day management of the inpatients at Marlborough House, Swindon. This will include contribution to the ward rounds (including typing contemporaneous clinical notes into the electronic patient records), CETRs, CPA reviews and discharge planning meetings, and Mental Health Act Tribunals. This will be under the clinical supervision of the dedicated inpatient consultants from the team. Clinical Supervision will rotate between the consultants as agreed.
  • Liaison with the Community Mental Health teams (CAMHS) to ensure co-ordinated clinical care of patients.
  • Providing timely written correspondence to relevant professionals documenting assessments, ongoing management, progress, and discharge summaries using Trust IT and clinical records system - training will be provided where needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies, in particular liaison with staff from other teams to manage smooth and timely transfer into and out of the unit. The teams most commonly involved with this will be the Community CAMHS teams, CAMHS Crisis team and Early Intervention Psychosis Team (EIS).
  • Contribution to developing and delivering improved clinical services as outlined in the National Service Framework for Mental Health.
