Full Job Description
The role includes cleaning kennels and Cattery pens, feeding dogs and cats, exercising, socialisation and various other kennel associated tasks. You also will be assisting dogs and cats in the water treadmill and pool and washing and drying them after there treatments. The successful applicant will be sharing their time between the two parts of the business. Firstly, assisting mainly in n the day care and kennels and cattery business learning the industry skills needed and then also with the hydrotherapy team including helping treat canine clients, washing and drying dogs, general admin and customer service tasks as well. This apprenticeship will offer the successful candidate a wealth of opportunity in their training.
We are only looking for a conscientious individual to be part of our expanding team of kennel staff. Ensuring adequate cover every day is paramount. This is a business where our clients pets must be cared for whatever the weather, 365 days a year, so reliability is essential. You must have a professional manner and flexibility to support the other staff and the business
On a day-to-day basis, the responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Handling dogs and cats
Cleaning Kennels and exercise areas
Feeding our guests include accurate distribution of any medications
Dealing with customers, including taking bookings and checking guests in and out
Working as part of a team
Other duties as required
Washing and drying dogs
Assisting in canine hydrotherapy when required
Desired Skills and Qualities, The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship
Things to consider
Animal roles often require applicants to be active all day, can be very mucky and working outside in all weathers.
KEITS Training Services Ltd reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than the listed closing date should the need arise.
The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.

Desired Qualifications:
GCSE or equivalent (Grade C/4 or higher) in Maths and English is desired but not essential.
Applicants cannot already hold a level 2 or higher in an animal care qualification to be eligible for this apprenticeship.
