The School of Social Sciences seeks to appoint a full-time Lecturer in Sociology (one-year post). The successful candidate will join the Sociology team within the School of Social Sciences and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research activity, and the wider academic life of the discipline, including contributing to and leading citizenship and academic activity where appropriate.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Sociology or a cognate area and will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and in supporting a high-quality student experience. They will have a developing portfolio of research publications and experience of contributing to academic service and leadership. Candidates with expertise in teaching sociological theory, public sociology, or the sociological study of welfare provision are particularly encouraged to apply.
