Job Description

Join us at the University of Sunderland and be part of a team that's shaping the future of education. This role offers the chance to make a real impact in a vibrant, supportive environment where innovation and collaboration thrive.

The School of Psychology is a small but aspiring School comprising Psychology, Public Health and Counselling, situated within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing. We are committed to innovation, excellence and adaptability in education and research, following the University of Sunderland Culture Framework. We have been reinvigorating our portfolio of programmes to ensure we are competitive in our offer and that we attract staff and students who fit with our ethos.

Your next opportunity

We have recently developed a School Research Strategy, encompassing Health, Wellbeing and Behaviour Change, Male Psychology, and Sex and Relationships where we bring staff, students and external partners together to create meaningful impact in all that we do. Our Male Psychology group has been formally recognised by the University as a research cluster. Our School has a lot to offer the right candidate.

Is this you?

You are ready to operate at a senior level, confidently taking on key leadership responsibilities within the School, such as programme leadership, where prior experience would be advantageous. You hold a PhD in Psychology, which is essential for this role, and bring a strong understanding of current School operations, enabling you to offer fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to help drive the School forward.

Ready to Apply?

Before getting started, please download the Role Profile under 'Job Description' so you have everything you need.

Our application questions assess you directly against the essential and desirable criteria for the role. We do not review CVs at this stage, so please provide detailed, evidence-based answers to help us understand your suitability.
