Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and dynamic pharmacist to lead our Surgery, and Theatres Pharmacy service at Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a senior leadership role within a large, diverse and innovative department that places clinical excellence and patient-centred care at its heart.
You will be responsible for providing professional leadership and operational management of the clinical pharmacy services to the surgical and theatres areas. You will lead and develop a team of specialist pharmacists, driving continuous improvement, medicines optimisation and service innovation with Trust and departmental strategies.
You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective and effective use of medicines and to optimise patient outcome and flow. The role also includes responsibility for supporting the delivery of medicines related cost improvement plans, developing evidence based formulary guidance and contributing to the Trust performance targets.
You will also be expected to contribute to the research agenda working with staff across the Pharmacy department and student placements.
Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.

That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.
