Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research Delivery Team at Great Western Hospital as a Research Delivery Lead. The role will work alongside other Research Delivery Leads, who together are responsible for the day to day management of the research delivery staff within the Research & Innovation Department. The post holder will work on research trials across all specialties, ensuring they maintain a reasonable balance between research delivery and line management responsibilities for the wider workforce. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring robust feasibility is conducted in order to supportNIHR targets for trial delivery and will support robust performance management of the research portfolio in order to maximize opportunities for patients to take part in research across our clinical specialties. This will involve working closely with a range of stakeholders including Principal Investigators, Research Governance staff, and support services to promote collaborative research delivery., The postholder will be responsible for the day to day line management of members of the clinical delivery team, and will coordinate and contribute to recruitment to clinical trials. This will involve ensuringfull feasibility assessment is conducted for all trials, and working with staff across the Trust to develop strategies to overcome barriers to recruitment. The post holder will provide support, encouragement and motivation to research professionals as well as plan and organize daily study tasks. The post holder will work with the Research Manager and Head of Service to support performance against National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and Trusttargets for patient recruitment into clinical trials, promoting quality research and developing andimplementing operational policy.This includes ensuring that research is conducted within ICH-GCP and the UK Policy Framework for Healthand Social Care Research., To work clinically as a research resource ensuring a reasonable balance between line management responsibilities and own research. Education/Qualification Essential
- Masters degree (or degree level with equivalent level of acquired knowledge and skills)
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Research Governance Framework (evidenced through practice/experience) Desirable
- Accredited Communications Course Experience Essential
- In Depth Knowledge of Clinical Trials and Research Governance
- Experience of Line Managing a Team or Managerial Experience
- Experience of Autonomous Practice Desirable
- Staff Recruitment Experience knowledge & skills Essential
- Leadership skills - Evidence of Ability to Support and Lead Junior Staff
- Excellent interpersonal communication including written and verbal
- Ability to Plan and Organise Own Workload and that of Others Desirable
