It provides valuable experience in the day-to-day operations and patient flow management of the units and the wider Trust, as well as an active role in clinical governance, staff management, and budget oversight.

An exciting 10-month secondment opportunity has arisen for a Lead Nurse to join our senior nursing team across the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Hospital Medical Unit (HMU), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and Respiratory/Respiratory Support Unit (RSU). We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative individual to provide visible leadership and professional accountability for the nursing teams, working alongside two other lead nurses. The successful candidate will have experience in acute medicine, particularly in caring for patients with complex respiratory conditions requiring non-invasive ventilation. Demonstrated excellent leadership skills are essential, with the ability to motivate and influence colleagues to develop new ways of working and uphold high standards of patient care. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team and be supported by the Matron and other lead nurses.   • Professionally qualified and clinically credible with a post registration qualification
  • Registered Nurse
  • Educated to a minimum of 1st degree
  • Evidence of Leadership, Management and speciality knowledge
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Critical care course
  • Desirable criteria
  • Post Graduate/further study qualification, Understanding of Budget Management
  • Experience of partnership working
  • Experience of implementing effective change into a clinical setting
  • Knowledge of recent clinical developments
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance gained from experience working with such systems
  • Knowledge of audit and data process
  • Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Managing finance, Workforce, quality within a clinical environment
