Full Job Description

We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for an innovative, enthusiastic and highly motivated Cardiac Physiologist to lead our Cardiac Rhythm Management service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This post has arisen due to progression of the previous post holder.
The CRM service at NNUH is well established and we are one of the largest implanting centres in the UK delivering a full range of CRM procedures. Performing over 2000 procedures in the last year including CRT±D, Leadless pacemakers, SICD, LBAP etc. We are also looking to expand further and introduce EV ICD and other leadless devices. This a busy and very efficient service delivered by a team of dedicated CRM physiologists. We are entering an exciting phase of Cath Lab redevelopment and refurbishment which will contribute to an expansion of our service and improve integration with the EP, coronary and non-invasive services.
We welcome the challenge of the forthcoming EPR, which should effectively integrate the multiple systems needed to ensure the safe management of our CRM patients., The post holder will develop, lead and manage the CRM service. This position holds a 50% commitment to clinical duties. Beyond the clinical duties, the post holder will be responsible for managing the CRM staff, develop CRM educational programmes, training and competency assessment, SoPs and clinical guidelines and act as deputy to the Principal Physiologist during periods of absence along with the other specialist lead physiologists. Managerial integration with surrounding hospital may see collaborative working, development of some bradycardia work and a focus on developing and expanding the complex pacing service.
BHRS/IBHRE accreditation is essential. + Continually monitor and maintain high professional standards of Cardiac Rhythm management services to patients and to initiate remedial action where necessary.
+ Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure service meets changing Health care needs
+ Provide high level leadership and support to rhythm management staffing dealing with difficult and conflicting situations, including those of a clinical/professional nature.
+ Initiate and participate in planning and implementing departmental policies.
+ Provide operational management and leadership for clinical Cardiac
Physiologists in the area of Cardiac Rhythm management and other staff groups.
+ Provide line management to Clinical Physiologists employed within the area of Cardiac Rhythm management, including the management of sick leave and annual leave
+ To manage resources within agreed budgets, and to act as an authorised
signatory alongside the other Service leads in the absence of the Principal Physiologist.
+ Alongside the other Service Leads, to act as deputy in the absence of the Principal Physiologist.
+ To ensure adequate supplies to the department, and ensure that effective economical use of resources is maintained.
+ Undertake responsibility for assessing, implementing and adapting to new clinical techniques.

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.
