Job Introduction

Senior ISP Business Integration

Join the Business Integration Team as an ISP in Bradford Council's IT Services! The Business Integration team is a small team comprising the Business Integration Manager and three ISP posts, looking after many of the Council's corporate systems. This team is part of the wider Systems and Architect team working within IT services.

We are looking for a developer to join the team and help in the delivery of integration and development work as well as application support and maintenance. The successful applicant will work closely with the Business Integration Manager and will coordinate team activity to ensure optimum team performance. Excellent communication skills are required to liaise effectively with customers, third party suppliers and members of the other IT teams. The team is responsible for looking after many of the Council's corporate systems (including, but not limited to, the NEC Revenues and Benefits System, Access Group Payments system, Imperial 360 for carparks, bus lanes and Clean Air Zone and the Council's bulk printing solution).

We are also responsible for integration of systems with our SAP system which is currently under review, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to be involved in the integration work which will be required when the SAP system migrates. Experience in python is essential as the team are currently undertaking a large piece of work to migrate the bulk printing solution. Unix skills, including shell scripting, are also a requirement as well as having some SQL skills for interrogating (and sometimes updating) Oracle and SQL Server databases. An understanding of Windows batch scheduling and Perl would be an added advantage. The ability to pick up new skills quickly and an aptitude for logical and methodical problem solving is an essential requirement. The applicant should be able to work as a team player but also be able to work diligently under their own initiative.

How to Apply

If you are interested in joining our team and would like some further information, please contact either Julie Cansfield, Business Integration Manager, on or via email at or Yunus Mayat, Enterprise Architect and System Services Manager, on or via email at.
