Job summary


An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse in Intensive Care.


We are looking for a caring, friendly and highly motivated individual who thrives working in a challenging and dynamic environment. You will possess a nationally recognised Intensive care qualification and already demonstrated your ability at Band 6 or 7 to consistently deliver supportive leadership and staff development. You will work in partnership with the senior nursing team and will be supported by the Lead Nurse and Matron to provide leadership on both clinical and professional levels.


ICU Services at the RBH have been rated as good by the CQC. Main duties of the job


A successful candidate will need to be compassionate, dynamic, reliable and flexible with an ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and demonstrable clinical experience in a critical care hospital setting. You will need to have excellent clinical skills, knowledge and communication skills with exemplary standards of care. Applicants will be a role model for the team and will motivate and inspire others to be the very best they can be.


The post holder will be expected to work clinically within the multidisciplinary team, maintain high standards of practice while supporting staff on a shift-by-shift basis and provide clinical leadership and decision making. They will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to sensitively manage change.


The post holder will be required to be an enthusiastic and integral member of our established and committed team, and provide and supervise the delivery of excellent patient care. The candidate will provide effective clinical leadership and management of the team in the Intensive Care Unit and demonstrate the ability to manage their time by prioritising and organising their work. They must demonstrate current personal development; have a good understanding and involvement in improving patient safety, risk reduction and development of others and general support for peers, junior and senior colleagues.
