Full Job Description
Are you a passionate Humanities teacher who believes every young person deserves the chance to thrive? Do you bring creativity, resilience and a nurturing approach to your teaching? If so, we'd love to hear from you., You will play a key role in shaping meaningful learning experiences for our students by:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons for individuals and small groups, following our curriculum framework and teaching up to GCSE level in a core subject.
- Supporting nurture-based programmes that help students build confidence, emotional literacy and self-belief.
- Monitoring, recording and reporting on student progress, ensuring every learner is supported to achieve their potential.
- Creating a stimulating, well-organised classroom environment that celebrates learning and encourages curiosity.
- Designing and reviewing Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans and personalised learning pathways.
- Leading on subject development across key stages as agreed with the Headteacher.
- Working collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, care staff and colleagues across departments to ensure a consistent, holistic approach.
- Managing challenging behaviour with empathy and structure, helping students move from external regulation to self-control.
- Ensuring student safety and wellbeing at all times, both on and off site, in line with safeguarding and risk assessment procedures.
- Contributing to whole-school development, innovation and continuous improvement.
QTS/PGCE required - Experience working with SEMH and challenging behaviour to re-engage the pupils back into their learning.
- Passionate about Humanities and committed to high-quality teaching.
- Skilled at building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Creative, adaptable and able to tailor learning to individual needs.
- Confident working with challenging behaviour in a supportive, structured way.
- A strong communicator who thrives in a multi-professional team.
- Organised, reflective and committed to ongoing professional development.
