Full Job Description

We are looking for a capable and well-organised HR Administrator to support the delivery of a high-quality HR service. This role would suit someone with strong administrative and IT skills who has a clear interest in developing their career within Human Resources, and who is ready to take on responsibility within a busy HR function.Working closely with and line-managed by the HR Advisor, the postholder will support the full remit of HR activity, with a particular focus on recruitment administration and sickness absence recording and reporting.The RoleKey responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment administration, including coordinating adverts, managing applications, undertaking pre-employment checks and supporting onboarding
  • Sickness absence recording and reporting, ensuring records are accurate, up to date and support effective absence management
  • Maintaining HR systems, databases and personnel records with high levels of accuracy
  • Supporting payroll-related administration, including starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Preparing HR data and reports to support management and compliance requirements
  • Providing professional, confidential administrative support across a wide range of HR responsibilities
  • During one week of the Easter holidays, you will be required to work from the main school office, where duties will include: Answering telephone calls, Dealing with visitors, Managing essential HR administration during this period

    Have strong administrative experience and excellent organisational skills
  • Be confident using IT systems
  • Have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Be reliable, well-organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • Have a genuine interest in HR and a clear desire to work in the field
  • No previous HR experience is required; however, this role is specifically suited to someone who is motivated to work in Human Resources and keen to develop their knowledge and skills over time. You will benefit from a close working relationship and guidance from an experienced HR Advisor, exposure to the full range of HR responsibilities (beyond basic administration), and the opportunity to build a strong foundation in HR within a supportive environment, making this a varied and rewarding role with genuine responsibility and development built in.

    Actual Annual Salary: £15,180 - The advertised salary reflects a working pattern of 25 hours per week, term time only plus one additional week worked during the Easter school holidays., Contract: Part-time, permanent appointment of 25 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday 9.30am-2.30pm, on a term-time-only basis with an additional requirement to work one week during the Easter school holiday. Flexibility around working hours may be considered at interview.,
