Full Job Description
We are working closely with local authority in Barnet to assist with the appointment of a Head of Service, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Head of Service - Localities is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership, management, and continuous improvement of adult social care services for older adults and individuals with physical disabilities within a defined locality. The post holder will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that promote independence, wellbeing, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for residents while operating within statutory frameworks and budgetary parameters. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage locality-based adult social care services for older adults and people with physical disabilities, ensuring effective and high-quality service delivery.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns, enquiries, and statutory responsibilities are managed effectively and within required procedures and timescales.
- Develop and maintain strong internal partnerships with teams such as public health, finance, human resources, family services, and commissioning.
- Ensure customer concerns, complaints, and service issues are resolved effectively and within agreed timescales.
Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualification. - Recognised professional qualification in Social Work. Essentials:
- Significant experience operating at a senior management level within a complex adult social care or public sector environment.
- Proven experience leading adult social care services for older adults, physical disabilities, or related service areas.
- Experience building and managing partnerships with health organisations, statutory agencies, housing providers, and voluntary sector organisations.
