Full Job Description
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board School In-Reach team are looking for aSchoolInReach Practitionerto join them. School In-reach is a team of mental health practitioners with different professional backgrounds, working together with schools to support the psychological wellbeing and resilience of young people. They are doing this through consultation with school staff, support and advice,teachingand direct clinical work. The team is led by a Clinical Lead (Clinical Psychologist) and Team Lead (Occupational Therapist) who oversee practitioners providing support across Cardiff and Vale, including to specialist education providers. Senior Mental Health Practitioners provide oversight to the schools in their area, supported by dedicated Mental Health Practitioners and Graduate Mental Health Workers. Difference is celebrated within the team through the promotion of a culture of learning together. The team receive regular supervision, reflectivepracticeand formulation conversations for learning together opportunities. Building,maintainingand growing relationships is key to the team. Emphasis will be placed on working alongside and in partnership with the local authority schools and other health systems, along with third sector agencies and communities., Under the supervision of senior clinicians within the service, thepost holder will
The ability to travel across the two counties is essential and the ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage for the service. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Deliver group work to leaners in a school setting (including co-ordination,preparationand evaluation)
- Provide 1:1 work including YP voice and brief focused direct work
- Develop and deliver training on emotional wellbeing and mental health topics to education staff
- Support and develop the School In-Reach newsletter
- Support peer mentoring and reflective practice programs within schools The post must include working on a Monday, where you wouldparticipatein the team meeting first thing, before travelling out into schools in the afternoon. Monday team times provide a point to ground the team in practice together. This post is fixed term until 28th February 2027, to cover the needs of the service.
