Food Service Worker

The primary role is performing a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas. Youwill be responsible for setting up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side servicestands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter andbeverages. You will serve food cafeteria style, following menu cards to make coffee, hot and coldbeverages, smoothies, milkshakes, and other items listed on the menu including cold sandwiches usingprepared ingredients. After the meals are complete, you will break down and clean the area, scrape,soak, scour and scrubs bowls, pots and pans and set up dining room tables for service, replenishingitems as necessary. You will set up and operate dishwashers, perform preventive maintenance andcleaning and heavy-duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchenequipment, washes floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, sanitizes garbage cans. Inaddition, you may be required to unload food from delivery trucks and to collect and transfer trash fromwork area to disposal area., You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable USand UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft andyou may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties orattend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required tocomplete a 6-month probationary period (remember to change if firefighter). Overtime may be required,and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriateto the grade and skill set of the incumbent. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and inwriting. You must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment physical for this role. You willobserve US Federal Holidays in lieu of UK Bank Holidays. You must be able to obtain a Food Handler'sCertificate and/or complete food handler's training. Your hours of work will be 20 hours per week on anas rostered schedule (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) where start & end times may be modifieddue to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.

1. Knowledge of sanitation standards for handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment andwork areas.2. Skilled in doing tasks with several steps and able to use judgment in sequencing tasks.3. Able to follow simple oral instruction and use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines.4. Able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds5. Able to continuously stand, walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods oftime.6. Able to work independently completing work as scheduled after initial oral or written instructions whenchanges or new assignments are made.
