Full Job Description

  • To work within and understand the importance of the hotels annual budget. Understanding the contribution you are required to make to ensure the success of the business.

  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, fire, security, health and safety and any other statutory regulations.

  • To ensure personal development in your area of responsibility, this will include attending any requested training sessions, you will be expected to organise some of your own training and attend a set number of training days each year.

  • To ensure good communication with all guests and colleagues both verbally and in writing, this must demonstrate the highest levels of literacy, numeracy, IT and presentation skills.

  • To attend all meetings invited too and provide all requested documentation within the required time frame.

  • To ensure that you are available to work all requested shifts, to always maintain the high standards of personal competence and behaviour set out in the company handbook. To always be smart and presentable wearing the correct uniform and badge.

  • To increase sales through food and beverage. A key focus should be on the areas where you can be most beneficial, ie Securing dinner reservations, pro-actively selling coffee's, lunches, drinks etc.

  • Produce rotas on a weekly basis ensuring wages are controlled by comparing forecasted revenue vs wage cost.

  • To ensure the efficient organisation of all events large and small, to have meetings with clients in person, over the telephone or internet. To then brief managers, staff and heads of department accurately, clearly and precisely to the guests exact requirements.

  • To monitor guest feedback through all online sites

  • To consider yourself to be an Ambassador for this business as such your actions should always be in its best interest.

  • To have an excellent understanding of hotel costs as to be a successful Food & Beverage Manager you will be required to monitor prices and orders for your departments. You should continually strive to further enhance the guest offering by implementing new products and services whilst maintaining competitive prices.

  • Control Linen and monitor quantity of linen used on a weekly basis

  • To continually train and coach the team.

  • To take control and manage the monthly liquor stock.

  • To support, develop and creat with wider team relevant events to increase demand

  • To monitor the forecast on a daily basis so you have a good understanding of the revenue to be achieved on a daily basis and also monitor the previous day to ensure the revenue expected was achieved.

  • Monitor KPI's to ensure you are exceeding budgeted targets on a daily and weekly basis.

  • To maintain a prominent level of management visibility and constant interaction with guests
