Full Job Description
The Fire Safety Advisor will be accountable to the Fire Safety Manager on matters of fire safety. They will provide support for the Fire Safety Manager in their goal to achieve Trust-wide Fire Safety Compliance., The Fire Safety Advisor will be accountable to the Fire Safety Manager. They will provide support for the Fire Safety Manager in their goal to achieve Trust-wide Fire Safety Compliance, responsible for:
- The successful postholder with be a designated responsible person (RO) for fire, reporting to the Fire Safety Manager who acts as the competent person (CO) for all fire related processes and procedures.
- Conducting Fire Safety Audits, and Inspections across all Trust premises.
- Support requests for bespoke departmental fire evacuation training or training on evacuation aids.
- Supporting the Fire Safety Manager on the recording and reporting of fire risk assessments.
- Supporting the Fire Safety Manager in providing competent advice on fire legislation.
- Providing support and expert technical advice on the application and interpretation of fire safety guidance, including the Department of Health Firecode.
- Assisting with the review of the content of the trust's fire safety policy and relevant protocols and procedures.
- Leading on the development and delivery of a suitable and sufficient training programme for staff.
- Support in the preparation of fire prevention and emergency action plans.
- Support with the investigation of all fire-related incidents and fire alarm actuations.
- Providing assistance when required in liaison with the enforcing authorities on technical issues.
- Liaising with managers and staff on fire safety issues and responding to bespoke enquiries.
