Full Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our multi-site properties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions.,

  • Managing the day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring invoices, payments, and customer accounts are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Performing daily Income Audit procedures, reconciling hotel revenue streams including rooms, food & beverage, meetings and events, and other ancillary income to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitoring and reconciling guest ledger, city ledger, and credit card transactions, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Processing supplier invoices, preparing payment runs, reconciling supplier statements, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Supporting credit control activities by raising invoices, chasing outstanding payments, allocating receipts, and maintaining accurate debtor records.
  • Assisting with Food & Beverage cost control by reviewing stock variances, analysing food and beverage costs, supporting stocktakes, and monitoring gross profit margins across outlets.
  • Carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are investigated promptly.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close activities, including journal postings, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of management reporting schedules.
  • Working closely with operational departments including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Events, Purchasing, and Housekeeping to ensure financial procedures and controls are consistently followed.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records within Opera PMS, Simphony, and Sage, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company standards.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen financial controls, and enhance reporting efficiency across the Finance Department.
  • Supporting with ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, VAT regulations, and hotel financial procedures.
  • Contributing to the development of a collaborative, service-focused Finance Team, supporting colleagues and helping drive operational excellence across the hotel.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality finance professional with a strong background in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, and Food & Beverage Cost Control. Working closely with operational departments across the hotel, you will help maintain robust financial controls, deliver accurate reporting, and support the continued success of the business.
  • The successful candidate will have previous hotel finance experience and be confident using Opera PMS, Simphony, Sage, and Microsoft Excel. You will be highly organised, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
