Full Job Description
- Support teaching and learning across the curriculum in line with school policies and planning
- Deliver targeted interventions and small-group support to raise attainment and confidence
- Provide whole class cover during teacher absence or PPA time where required
- Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities, including SEND and EAL learners
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents/carers to support pupil development
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school events
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Full-Time, A vibrant and welcoming primary school in the Crosby area is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their supportive team from September 2026. This is a full-time role supporting pupils across Key Stages, with responsibilities including classroom support, intervention delivery, and covering lessons when required., HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualification/experience - Previous experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary or secondary school setting
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective classroom support strategies
- Confidence leading groups and covering lessons independently when required
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
- Commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or EAL needs
- Knowledge of intervention programmes and formative assessment strategies
- Experience working across multiple key stages
- First Aid or safeguarding training
