Full Job Description

  • Support teaching and learning across the curriculum in line with school policies and planning
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small-group support to raise attainment and confidence
  • Provide whole class cover during teacher absence or PPA time where required
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities, including SEND and EAL learners
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents/carers to support pupil development
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school events

    Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Full-Time, A vibrant and welcoming primary school in the Crosby area is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their supportive team from September 2026. This is a full-time role supporting pupils across Key Stages, with responsibilities including classroom support, intervention delivery, and covering lessons when required., HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualification/experience
  • Previous experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary or secondary school setting
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective classroom support strategies
  • Confidence leading groups and covering lessons independently when required
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
  • Commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential
  • Desirable:
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or EAL needs
  • Knowledge of intervention programmes and formative assessment strategies
  • Experience working across multiple key stages
  • First Aid or safeguarding training
