Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive KS2 specialist SEN school in Swinton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to helping pupils with additional needs achieve their full potential. Combining classroom support with sports and movement-based activities, you will play an important role in promoting engagement, confidence, communication, and overall wellbeing. The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including children who are non-verbal, and provides a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to succeed. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff, you will help create positive learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom., As a Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
- Deliver engaging sports, physical activity, and movement-based sessions
- Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and social interaction
- Support classroom learning and daily routines
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Help pupils develop communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills

- Experience working with children or young people
- A background in sports coaching, education, youth work, care, or a related field

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs Desirable
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
