Full Job Description
A specialist high school in Crosby is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Support Assistant to work with students who require additional support with learning, communication, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact within specialist education. Sports Coaches, Psychology Graduates, Youth Workers, and Support Workers are strongly encouraged to apply. The Role You will support students with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
- ADHD
- Communication and interaction needs
- Complex learning and behavioural needs Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom
- Building positive relationships and encouraging engagement
- Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional support
- Promoting confidence, independence, and social development
- Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
We are looking for someone who: - Has experience working with young people in education, coaching, care, or support settings
- Is patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Can remain calm in challenging situations
- Is passionate about supporting vulnerable students
- Has a proactive and positive attitude Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant references covering the last 2 years
