Full Job Description

We are recruiting two dietitians, one in our Acute Adult Inpatient team and the other in our Chronic Conditions team. The Acute Adult Inpatient post is a varied role which will involve working closely with your dietetic colleagues, as well as various multidisciplinary teams, to support patients under older people's medicine, gastroenterology, neurology and stroke, respiratory, cardiology, oncology, surgery, and more! Our Chronic Conditions team includes cardiac rehabilitation, adult renal, paediatric and adult diabetes, paediatric and adult cystic fibrosis and paediatric obesity services. It is a fluid post, to cover several conditions as needed and is mostly outpatient work. For both roles, we offer regular supervision and opportunities for professional growth. You'll be welcomed into a truly diverse, multi-talented department where everyone's background and perspective are valued. Our team brings together a wide range of experiences, cultures, and ideas, making us stronger and more innovative. We're proud of our open, inclusive culture; your voice matters, and you'll be encouraged to shape how we work. We believe in working hard, supporting each other, and having fun together. As a department we have regular shared lunches and there are frequent social events giving us the chance to relax and catch up outside of work.Main duties of the job If you want to develop your skills, make a real impact, and join a team that lives its PRIDE values: People-focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence, apply now! You'll gain new friends, fresh perspectives, and a workplace where you truly belong. As a Dietitian in either our Acute Adult Inpatient Team or Chronic Conditions Teams, you'll independently manage a caseload of patients, providing dietetic assessment, advice, and support. You'll develop and review care plans, using communication and motivational skills to help patients and carers navigate challenging diagnoses and treatments. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to service development, and act as a role model for our PRIDE values. We're looking for dietitians with enthusiasm and empathy, with the ability to adapt when required. Excellent communication, organisational skills, and a commitment to ongoing learning are essential. Typical decisions in either role you'll make:

  • Adjusting dietetic care plans in response to changing clinical needs and patient feedback
  • Prioritising your workload to balance direct patient care, MDT meetings, supervision, and service improvement projects
  • Choosing the best approach to engage and motivate patients and carers, using counselling and behavior change techniques.
  • If you want to make a real impact, develop your expertise, and join a team where your ideas and individuality are valued, we'd love to hear from you about either of these posts.
