Full Job Description
We have an exciting new opportunity to join our existing development team in Oxford as development surveyor. Based in the Oxford hub office you will be part of the wider and fully integrated Planning and Development South team currently comprising 18 planning and development professionals with a range of specialisms and extensive experience of working collaboratively on planning and development projects across a number of sectors throughout the south and southwest. The role offers a variety of consultancy, valuation, and development land agency work, and will allow you to actively contribute to the growth and direction of the Oxford team. Main tasks: - You will assist Partners in providing
clear consultancy and agency advice in relation to residential and mixed-use development land for our public and private sector clients. You will be familiar with undertaking development appraisals (Argus Developer competent), be able to provide written option assessments and valuations for land use, and transactional advice - mainly selling land for development. - Provide valuation advice on land and property assets, including the financial appraisal of development sites - Use of Argus Developer - Undertake options appraisals to identify development viability - Provide development consultancy advice - Undertake comparable and market research - Advise on planning and development strategies, including formal reports and the assessment of alternative land use values - Support with strategic advice on delivery structures, development agreements and joint ventures - Dealing with residential development land agency instructions - Preparation of marketing campaigns including preparation
of brochures and information packs, and setting up data rooms - Negotiate and structure Heads of Terms for transactions - Mentor graduates in the wider division / office
You will be an RICS chartered surveyor and registered valuer with post qualification experience ideally within development consultancy and agency however, experience in commercial or rural disciplines will not be discounted if you have a clear interest in development. - You will be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of development appraisals, advisory and disposal work. It is also essential that you will be able to provide written option assessments and transactional advice and be competent in Argus Developer (or equivalent). - You will be an excellent team player and be forward thinking with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. You will have excellent communication skills to develop client relationships as well as support and cross sell with colleagues internally. - This will be an opportunity for a development surveyor to form part of a growing team over the longer-term, and as such presents an opportunity for an
ambitious individual. - A full driving license will be required for this role as regular travel to sites is expected.
