Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Ward Sister on Ceiriog Ward for 36 hours a week . Ceiriog Ward is a 28 bedded ward and is part of the East Area Management Team. Ceiriog ward cares a wide variety of patients with complex care needs and is the feeder ward for the stroke unit. We work closely with all members of the MDT and encourage patients and family involvement in all aspects of patient care., 1. Responsible for providing clinical leadership to staff, deputising for the Ward Manager in her/his absence.
2. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care to ensure the provision of a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model and supporting the Ward Manager in driving forward the provision of quality care.
3. Contribute to the education, development and line management of other delegated staff members, qualified and unqualified.
4. Work collaboratively and co-operatively with other members of the multi disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients and their families with minimal or no supervision.
This post requires motivation, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and demonstration of evidence based clinical practice. The candidate should also be a mentor with recognised mentor experience and a proven history of providing supervision to junior staff. The successful candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic about your own professional development and be open to undertaking further academic qualifications. They must be flexible, approachable, compassionate, motivated, hardworking and be able to manage their time effectively., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
