Deputy Head of Podiatry / Orthotics Manager

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Podiatrist/Orthotist with a proven track record in innovation to fulfil the role of Deputy Head of Podiatry/Orthotics Manager in Hywel Dda Health Board.,

• Providing professional leadership and management of staff within the department, ensuring that all services are delivered to recognised national and Health Care standards.
• Assist the Head of Service with the strategic development, modernisation, and innovation of the service and lead its implementation within a variety of settings, working closely with key stakeholders and partners
• deputise for the Head of Service at both operational and strategic levels within the Health Board and with local partners as required.
• Work with the Head of Service and other service leads to ensure that all policies, procedures, and financial processes for the service are in line with national standards and are implemented equitably across the service.
• Manage a clinical caseload of clients with complex needs at an advanced clinical level using evidence-based practice.
• Lead the clinical governance agenda within the department, promoting clinically effective practice and adherence to HCPC/professionalstandards.
  
  The successful candidate must have substantial clinical experience in Podiatry service and demonstrable up to date experience of advanced practice in clinical work.
  
  Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services. We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers. Our services are provided in:
• Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
• Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
• Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
• 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
