Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly capable and resilient Deputy Head of Healthcare to play a key role in the overall delivery of healthcare services within a secure custodial environment. You will be joining HMP Lancaster Farms, a Category C male prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster, with capacity of around 550, with expansion plans of around an additional 250. This is a senior role, with management responsibility for clinical leads across the pathways (primary care, mental health and substance misuse), in which you will be supporting the Head of Healthcare. Applicants will ideally have prison / secure setting experience, and must hold a valid professional registration, ideally an NMC pin. Hours Shifts are Monday- Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. Working 37.5 hours per week., As our new Deputy Head of Healthcare, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Work closely with the Head of Healthcare and senior team to deliver the best service possible to patients
- Support all pathways that we offer - mental health, primary care and substance misuse
- Deputise for the Head of Healthcare when necessary
- Have responsibility for the operational management of the service
- Continuously review and assess the service being delivered
- Review and improve standards and processes
- Support the Head of Healthcare in delivering agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England and drive their strategic vision for the service
- Ensure effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the site

Hold a current registration, such as NMC / HCPC etc - Ideally have previous experience within a prison or secure setting
- Be very proactive with an appetite for change!

- Ability to influence and deliver information to key partners and stakeholders

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of £48,526 - £53,754 per annum.
