Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHNHSFT) is committed to delivering patient and organisational benefits through the use of Technology. This role is to assist in delivering the data quality assurance agenda to the Trust., · Improve the quality of data in the trusts patient systems · Amendment of incorrectly recorded activity · Ensure patient demographics are correct for re-contracting purposes · Ensure duplicate patient records are investigated and merged · Redirect GP Mail electronically and via post if undelivered/incorrectly delivered · Correct system errors made by ADT users · Improve the coverage of the use of NHS Numbers · Liaise with Trust staff on data quality issues and support/help make corrections where appropriate · Produce and maintain a suite of Data Quality procedures · Assist in the system administration of the community care systems · Participate in regular housekeeping of systems, · Improve the quality of data in the trusts patient systems · Amendment of incorrectly recorded activity · Ensure patient demographics are correct for re-contracting purposes · Ensure duplicate patient records are investigated and merged · Redirect GP Mail electronically and via post if undelivered/incorrectly delivered · Correct system errors made by ADT users · Improve the coverage of the use of NHS Numbers · Liaise with Trust staff on data quality issues and support/help make corrections where appropriate · Produce and maintain a suite of Data Quality procedures · Assist in the system administration of the community care systems · Participate in regular housekeeping of systems · Assist and participate in migration projects · Assist in system updates as required · Support improvements in the quality of information recorded on BTHNHSFT electronic patient systems · Develop into a local expert on other clinical applications used in the Trust, where required · Working closely with clinical services to improve the quality of data in the trust systems · Providing guidance and support to Trust staff/external agencies/Patients for data quality purposes · Working closely with other teams and departments to ensure data is interpreted correctly · Documenting working procedures · Provide demographic record support for patient record management, including new registrations, deceasing and merging · Provide support for end user queries This list of duties is not intended to be exhaustive as duties may change in light of the annual performance review appraisal and ongoing monitoring. The post holder must be flexible in the duties performed and it is expected that similar duties, not specifically mentioned above will be carried out as required.
- Good standard of general education or equivalent experience/knowledge, ECDL or equivalent qualification/experience, Experience of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel Desirable criteria
- Understanding of data quality principles
- Knowledge and experience with hospital information systems, Keyboard and PC skills
- Ability to work without supervision and organise own workload to meet identified deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to relate to people at all levels including senior staff and other health professionals
- Ability and willingness to undergo further training to support the needs of the department
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Methodical and organised Desirable criteria
- Ability to analyse and interpret information

For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.

Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.
