- Supervise lessons for absent teachers as required.
- To facilitate and encourage learning which helps all students achieve their potential.
- To work with colleagues to support high standards of behaviour and attainment.
- To implement school policies and procedures.
Experience of working with or caring for secondary school aged children is essential. The successful candidate should have excellent numeracy, literacy and ICT skills and be able to communicate clearly to students and staff in a calm and respectful manner, be reliable and trustworthy and work within the school's policies and procedures.

Grade 4: Local Pay Point 7 - 11 £26,403 - £28,142 FTE (Pro Rata) Actual Startng Salary £22710, Monday - Thursday - 8.00 am - 4.00 pm Friday - 8.00 am - 3.30 pm 37 Hours Per Week (30 minutes lunch each day) Term Time Only Start Date - 1st September 2026 The post of cover supervisor incorporates a wide range of experiences, fulfilling opportunities and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to school life. It also give employees the opportunity to forge important relationships with colleagues and students alike. For this reason, the post is an excellent route into the profession, and can allow experience to be gained which can support a subsequent progression into teaching.
