Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our healthcare teams at HMP Onley a category C training prison and HMP Rye Hill Category B prison, based in Rugby, Northamptonshire. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for Consultant Psychiatrist to work across 2 different patients groups. Successful applicant will be familiar working with adult mental health presentations, delivering medication reviews, hospital referrals and psychiatric support for complex historic trauma. You will be working collaboratively with 2 established GP and mental health teams on site which include a mental health specific Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Hours 1 day per week at HMP Onley 2 days per week at HMP Rye Hill We are flexible regarding which days these sit across Monday to Friday, there are no on call hours within this role.,

  • You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meeting and 1:1 clinical supervision.

  • What you'll be doing As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
  • Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
  • Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

  • Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
  • Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
  • Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation

    This position is part time working 28.5 hours per week you'll receive an annual salary up to £ Apply per annum FTE - depending on experience.
