Full Job Description
This job description is intended to cover the main points of the post only. The neurology department hosts a series of specialised services, and the composition of the post will depend on the roles required for the sub specialism of the applicant.
The appointee will join a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of four currentMetabolic Medicine Consultants, specialist dietitians, specialist nurses, one dedicated pharmacist and one specialist physiotherapist and one research physiotherapist. The team is supported managerially by a Support Manager, Lead Manager, Senior Operational Manager and Clinical Director. The nature of the work will include assessment, a range of clinicaltreatments and consultancy covering the whole spectrum of Inherited Metabolic.
As a senior clinician, it is expected that the Consultant will be involved inmore complex cases, often in partnership with other agencies and almost always inconjunction with another member of the adult IMD team. Clinicians' workloads areclosely monitored by team managers and supervisors to ensure equity of caseload.
The post holder will have 7 planned activities per week,including Clinical, CPD and the remainder for management, audit, teaching, educationalsupervision, research or special interest.
