Construction Underwriter

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging role in our expert led Allianz Construction team. As an integral member within the Regional team your focus will be on profitable growth, retention and technical excellence in building a World class, multi-niche Insurance & Engineering related service, with ambitious growth targets. You will be responsible for underwriting Construction risks with associated Casualty/Liability covers, ensuring customer business growth and retention. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be a Senior Authority holder focused on winning and retaining business of a large and complex nature. You will provide excellent service to customers, build and develop successful broker relationships and be visible in the local market, thriving on face-to-face contact with brokers and end customers. This role will be hybrid from our offices in either Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham. Salary Information Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package. About You We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets.
• Positively represent AzC externally to the market.
• Support development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy.
• Support key business initiatives.
• Generate new producer relationships.
• Participate/contribute to key projects.
• Negotiate price and terms and conditions with producers.
• Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and producer negotiations where necessary).
• Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g., MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key producers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g., risk managers), Do you need flexibility with the hours you work? • Seasoned professional with proven track record in construction underwriting' with a heavy focus on Civils.
• Confidence and articulate - you need to be comfortable engaging with brokers and undertaking negotiations, proactively representing Allianz to the market.
• Analytical and Strategic - you need to be able to review submissions and understand Allianz's appetite whilst considering market conditions.
• Team player but self-motivated and willing to train/mentor junior members of the team.
• Competent IT skills.
