Full Job Description

  • Contribute to the OU leadership team with expertise to enhance performance and culture.
  • Ensure robust project control and governance in line with Skanska UK policies.
  • Promote Skanska UK's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Uphold compliance with the Skanska Code of Conduct and ethics.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to foster business opportunities.
  • Lead defect management efforts to ensure timely resolution.
  • Achieve profit expectations with full P&L accountability for projects.
  • Execute business plan priorities effectively.
    • Commercial Leadership:
  • Develop commercial strategies to maximize income on every project.
  • Advise on client contractual interfaces alongside Operations Directors and Managing Director.
  • Manage risks, opportunities, costs, and values associated with contracts.
  • Oversee commercial input into tenders ensuring company interests are protected.
  • Maintain corporate governance throughout the Pre-Construction process.
    • Forecasting & Reporting:
  • Collaborate with operational and financial management for transparent reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports, analyse trends, and recommend actions as needed.
  • Lead mandatory forecasting and reporting requirements per Skanska standards.
    • People Leadership:
  • Provide direction for commercial teams across the OU, focusing on talent development and succession planning.
    • Work Winning:
  • Develop market pipelines leading to successful bids and profitable contracts.
  • Create winning strategies leveraging customer knowledge aligned with Skanska's capabilities.

    Professionally qualified to an appropriate related body with excellent working knowledge of contract conditions and contract law and their administration.
  • Excellent communicator and people leader with demonstrated leadership in the Skanska values
  • Experience of winning projects in a tier 1 corporate governance structure with proven customer relationship skills and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in all aspects of financial, commercial and project management, and financial/business acumen.
  • Experience of Commercial Lead roles on large scale projects having negotiated successful contracts with customers to the business expected outcomes.
  • Demonstrable people leadership and creating high performing, inclusive teams with robust succession plans.
  • This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
